Alice Marie Kelly Kuntz Endowed Scholarship

Eligible: Continuing Dental Hygiene Students Only

Background and Purpose

This scholarship was established in 2007 by the estate of Mrs. Alice Marie Kelly Kuntz, a former dental hygienist who passed away in 2007. Mrs. Kuntz’s sister was also a dental hygienist. The scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding dental hygiene student who demonstrates high academic achievement, financial need, and strong leadership abilities.

Award Amount and Timing

Subject to the availability of funds, the total annual award is $2,000 to the selected student(s).  Scholarship award is as follows: $1,000 per semester, fall and spring semester enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Currently enrolled rising senior student who will be enrolled on a full-time basis during the subsequent academic year.
  2. A minimum of a 3.0 program grade point average (pGPA).
  3. Documented Financial Need – All students applying for scholarships must apply for financial aid.  Students are not required to accept awarded loans, but in order to generate the aid report required that officially documents financial need, a completed FAFSA is required.  Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information.

  1. A letter of recommendation is required from an individual who is knowledgeable of and can address the applicant’s leadership traits/characteristics.  Relatives cannot not be used as references.
