Pre Admission Advising Session
Qualified applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the Department to arrange an advising session prior to submitting an application and all official transcripts. This session will be scheduled for an in person meeting or via other technologies as appropriate. Applicants that participate in a Pre Admission Advising Session will be given preferential consideration on admissions decisions.
All college work must have a GPA of at least 2.5 or better (a GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred). All prerequisite courses must have a minimum grade of a “C” or higher. Candidates are encouraged to complete all of their core curriculum. However, candidates may be considered with a minimum of successful completion of English Composition I and II, one course in College Algebra (or higher level mathematics), as well as an additional six credits from the Core Curriculum.
The candidate must have documented proficiency in online education by successfully completing at least one online course (grade of “C” or higher) or demonstrate proficiency in online education skills through an assessment by the Department of EMS (an assessment fee applies).
The following credits are required in the B.S. degree program. All courses are required from a regionally accredited post-secondary academic institution and must fulfill all college requirements.

The following are considered by a selection committee when reviewing applicants for the program:
- Academic performance
- Completion of a the following General Education Requirements
- English Composition I
- English Composition II
- Computer Concepts or Internet-based course from the General Education Electives
- Current license or certification as a paramedic (may include National Registry and other state credentials; subject to review from Arkansas Department of Health)
- Applicants that participate in a Pre-admission Advising Session will be given preferential consideration on admissions decisions
The selection committee reviews all applications that meet admission requirements.
