Coding Classes / Continuing Education

The Health Information Management (HIM) department at UAMS offers four courses as Continuing Education (CE). These courses were designed for those persons interested in learning more about Medical Terminology & Anatomy, ICD-10 Coding, and CPT Coding without pursuing a college degree. These are CE hours rather than college-credit courses, therefore, no tuition discounts apply. These types of courses are recommended before taking any coding certification exam. Certification for coding (e.g. CCA, CCS) can only be given through AHIMA.

An official transcript will be required. Call the department secretary for details at (501) 296-1059.
