The ARDMS certification is a mandatory prerequisite since this degree program does not require additional clinical education. This may allow sonographers to continue to work in their current jobs while completing their degree.
In addition, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences mandates that students accepted into the Career Ladder track must come to the UAMS campus at least once during their first year in the program.
