We receive many scholarship applications for a limited number of available scholarships. It is very important that you carefully follow directions so your application will not be disqualified for being incomplete. Before proceeding with the scholarship application, please read the following: Documented Financial Need All students applying for scholarships must also apply for financial aid if they have not done so already. Students are not required to accept the awarded loans, but a completed FAFSA is required to generate the aid report that officially documents the financial need of applicants. If a scholarship requires proof of documented financial need and that need is not documented on the Student Financial Services report by July 1, 2026, your application will be considered incomplete. Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information. Essay When responding to each of the four essay sections, please use proper punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Responses to each essay section should be approximately 500 words. Timeline The scholarship application process closes at 4:30 p.m. Central time on June 5, 2026. Acceptable length for each section is approximately 500 words. It is recommended that applicants draft their essays in Microsoft Word or some other word processing software first to check essay length or for errors in spelling and grammar and then copy and paste the essays into the form. Leadership – Describe in your own words what makes a great leader. Talk about a time you stepped into a leadership role and what lessons you learned or insights you gained. Service – What does serving others mean to you? How does this apply to your chosen profession? Professionalism – Discuss the role of professionalism in healthcare. Share examples of when you have witnessed a high level of professionalism in the workplace. Career Goals – What are your career goals?
