
The November 2024 Core Values Award for Teamwork has been awarded to Edward Williams, DMSc, M.Ed., PA-C, Chair and Program Director in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. The nomination criteria for an ideal candidate is:
- Advocates for inclusivity
- Supports underrepresented groups
- Works to eliminate disparities in health and wellness
- Promotes cultural competence and health equity initiatives
The person who nominated Dr. Williams for this award had the following to say about him:
“I am nominating Dr. Williams for the Diversity and Health Equity award. He works tirelessly to welcome students to the PA program from diverse backgrounds, whether that is first-generation college students, veterans, LGBTQ community members, and those of different racial and ethnic backgrounds. He also has a long-term goal of student recruitment from the Arkansas Delta, in hopes of those students returning to the delta to serve their communities. He is creative and determined to find long term solutions to this significantly underserved part of our state.”
