Where did you go to school?
University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Who have been your strongest influences in life?
Both of my parents work in healthcare, and they have been extremely influential in my upbringing and desire to be a healthcare professional. They both taught me that empathy, work ethic, and curiosity will carry you far in life, and for that I am grateful!
What led you to choosing your program?
Being able to learn at an institution dedicated to serving my home state is an honor. I knew I wanted a program that would challenge me both professionally and personally while helping me grow into a competent and compassionate healthcare provider. The UAMS PA program has done just that, and I am incredibly grateful to be part of a program and institution that shares those values.
What do you like about UAMS?
I love being on campus and knowing that so many different professions are working together to better our state and improve access to care. UAMS places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, which I think reflects what healthcare really looks like- people of different professions and backgrounds coming together to provide the best care possible for their patients.
What motivates you?
Knowing that I am gaining knowledge and experience that will inevitably benefit my future patients is a huge motivator for me and an important reminder of my “why” in medicine.
If you could share some helpful tip to future students, what would they be?
Do not be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things. You never know what opportunity may come from being willing to step out of your comfort zone!
What are your hobbies?
I love to read, go on walks, and spend time with friends and family.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to begin my career as a Physician Assistant! I look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a provider while providing my patients with the best care possible.
