CHP Dean’s Society Scholarship

Background and Purpose
The College of Health Professions Dean’s Society was established to enhance and strengthen programs in education, research and service within the college. Members understand the tremendous value of unrestricted gifts that allow the College access to funds for projects that improve our education, scholarship and student life. The purpose of this scholarship is to reward an Arkansas resident who is enrolled in a designated baccalaureate or higher-level program in the college and who demonstrates high academic achievement and financial need.
Award Amount and Timing
Subject to availability of funds, the total annual award is $2,500 to the selected student(s). The full amount of the award will be dispersed at the beginning of the spring semester.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a United States Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Applicant must be enrolled in one of the CHP programs listed below*:
- Audiology
- Dietetics
- Physician Assistant
- Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Nuclear Medicine
- Applicant must be admitted as a full-time, degree-seeking student, maintains full-time, degree-seeking status entering their second semester of enrollment, be in good standing with the program, and not on academic probation.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (cGPA) of 3.00 for all courses completed since admission into the College of Health Professions.
- Documented Financial Need – All students applying for scholarships must apply for financial aid. Students are notrequired to accept awarded loans, but in order to generate the aid report required that officially documents financial need, a completed FAFSA is required. Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information.
- Submit an essay that addresses the topic listed (one page limit; single spaced, 1” margins)
- Why did you select your chosen profession? What factors influenced your selection? Describe your short and long-term professional goals. Which are priorities?
*These programs are represented by CHP faculty or staff in the Dean’s Society.
