How long is the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program?
Our Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program offers full-time and part-time tracks to accommodate different schedules.
The full-time track spans two academic years, consisting of four semesters where students are enrolled full-time for 15 weeks, including a 10-week summer session between the junior and senior years. Students must complete all prerequisite coursework to qualify for this option.
The part-time track lasts three academic years, with four semesters of part-time enrollment (seven to eight semester credit hours) for 15 weeks, and two 10-week summer sessions (one semester credit hour internet-based course the first summer and five semester credit hours the second summer). This is followed by two semesters of full-time coursework during the senior year. To qualify for this option, students must have completed at least 38 semester credit hours of specified prerequisite coursework by the first fall semester. It is strongly recommended that all prerequisite coursework be completed by the beginning of the second fall semester.
How many students are in each class of the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program?
The number of students admitted each fall varies depending on the enrollment of second-year part-time students. The combined total of full-time students admitted each fall and second-year part-time students cannot exceed 24 students.
Can out-of-state students apply and be accepted to the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program?
Out-of-state students are eligible for acceptance into the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program. However, priority is given to Arkansas residents.

What is the deadline for admission applications to the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program?
The deadline for applications to the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program is May 1. However, the admissions committee meets at the end of January, February, March and April to admit a percentage of the class each month as qualified students apply.
Students are encouraged to complete all admission requirements as early as possible to be considered for early admission.
If not offered admission, prospective students with completed applications will be deferred and reconsidered each month until the final admission committee meeting before the start of classes in the fall.
