About the Department
The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy is to improve physical therapy services to the state of Arkansas and beyond by educating students who will practice patient-centered physical therapy while embracing individuals from a variety of backgrounds while upholding ethical integrity, professionalism and collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The department fosters lifelong learning through a systems-based curriculum with an emphasis on critical thinking and competency-based education with clinical application of knowledge and evidence-based practice.
Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is system-based program that integrates both part-time and full-time clinical experiences throughout all three years. This is possible due to our on-site in-patient and out-patient clinical facilities, as well as our on-site interprofessional pro bono clinic. Together with our small class size and emphasis on active learning, this integration of clinical experience makes our program unique in the region.
