About the Degree Program

The Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Program is committed to student engagement, advancing the profession, and increasing oral health literacy in Arkansas. The newly renovated UAMS Dental Hygiene Student Clinic along with clinical rotation sites offer students diverse clinical experiences to equip students with skills to become competent oral health care providers. The program seeks opportunities to serve underserved populations.

Dental Hygiene Alumnus Starts Fund for Scholarship

Richard Robinson is used to being the only African American, male dental hygienist in the room. About 84% of all dental hygienists are white of which 96% are women. African Americans make up approximately 4% of all hygienists, with African American men accounting for fewer than 1%. Robinson wants to change that.
