About the Office of Admissions

Who We Are

The College of Health Professions (CHP) Office of Admissions is the hub for student services.  We are hardworking, motivated, skilled,  knowledgeable team players; ready to assist as you explore the many career options the College of Health Professions has to offer.  We also provide excellent customer service to our currently enrolled students.

We offer campus tours, pre-admission academic advising, and allied health career counseling by appointment.  We process admission applications for all College of Health Professions programs!  Application deadlines and admission requirements vary by program If you would like to request an advising session, please fill out our request form.  If you are unsure which CHP program is a good fit for you, please email the Office of Admissions to request an appointment with our recruiting specialist for allied health career counseling.

The College of Health Professions Office of Admissions staff can answer questions or direct you to the right resource and department for the information you need.  It is our goal to make a positive impact on your Office of Admissions experience.

What is your hometown?  North Little Rock, Arkansas

Where did you go to college?  University of Arkansas at Little Rock

What is your role in the College of Health Professions?  As Associate Dean for Student Affairs I am focused on the student experience.  Students do many things, including but not limited to, registering for classes, participating in student organizations and events, apply for scholarships and financial aid, complying with program and university policies.  I am committed to ensuring our focus stays on serving students so that their time in the College of Health Professions is a success.   Another area of responsibility is Director of Admissions where we specialize in the future student experience.

What’s your favorite thing about the job?  I enjoy helping students be successful.  Sometimes it can be as simple as a listening ear, a hug, or a word of encouragement.  My greatest joy is participating in Commencement.  When I watch students walk across the stage when their name is called, hear the cheers and witness the excitement from their adoring fans, I can’t help but be excited and proud of their accomplishments.  Their success is our success!

What is your favorite way to pass time – what are your hobbies, your talents, your interests?  I enjoy reading and traveling.  I am personally inspired by my family and my faith and I truly believe laughter is good for the soul.

What is one thing about you that might surprise people?  I collect pop-up books.

What is your role in the College of Health Professions?  Executive Assistant

What’s your favorite thing about the job? My favorite thing about my job is I get to assist students with their admission process to their health profession career.

What is your favorite way to pass time – what are your hobbies, your talents, your interests? My absolute favorite way to pass time is to spending time with family and close friends.  My hobbies are traveling, crafting, sewing and gardening.

What is one thing about you that might surprise people?  I want to be on the Amazing Race.


Lyndsay JohnsonLyndsay Johnson, M.S.
Director of Student Services

What is your hometown?  Tulsa, Oklahoma

Where did you go to college?  University of Central Arkansas; Arkansas Tech University

What is your role in the College of Health Professions?  As the Director of Student Services my role can cover numerous aspects of the admissions process. This includes providing pre-academic advising to students interested in our programs and also processing program applications and admission materials for our applicants and so much more. I frequently assist in recruitment activities and maintain the college’s social media which I thoroughly enjoy.

What’s your favorite thing about the job?  My favorite thing about my job is watching our students grow and accomplish their goals. They become graduates and professionals that can promote and change the future of healthcare.

What is your favorite way to pass time – what are your hobbies, your talents, your interests?  Spending time with my family, reading, playing basketball, volunteering, laughing, listening to music, traveling, and watching movies. I love going to church and singing!

What is one thing about you that might surprise people?  I didn’t start driving until I was a junior in college and I love a good corny joke

What is your favorite way to pass time – what are your hobbies, your talents, your interests?  Shopping and more shopping

What is one thing about you that might surprise people?  I love to roller skate!

What is your hometown? I have lived different places, so home is where my family is.

Where did you go to college? Campbellsville University (B.A.) and Arkansas Tech University (M.S.)

What is your role in the College of Health Professions? As Education Coordinator, I help students transition from being prospective students to becoming admitted students.  I love students and it is important to me to have a career that makes a difference. I feel fortunate to be a part of students reaching their potential. I do not just want students to make it; I want to see them excel.

What’s your favorite thing about the job? I love my colleagues and the positive environment. Everyone is so welcoming and we truly do operate as a team.

What is your favorite way to pass time – what are your hobbies, your talents, your interests? I love personality tests, good food, and playing games with friends and family.

What is one thing about you that might surprise people? I have swum with sharks and dolphins.
