Curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

Curriculum Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program requires a minimum of 120 semester credit hours for completion.

This coursework represents 47 semester credit hours of pre-professional coursework and 73 semester credit hours of professional coursework.

During the summer semester, senior students will select one of two areas of concentration, either vascular sonography or adult echocardiography, in order to complete their degree.

Course Completion Requirements

Students must meet the following requirements to complete each course in the Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.

  • All professional courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher for progression to the next semester and for graduation.

All students in the UAMS College of Health Professions must complete all Interprofessional Education activities.
