Assistant Professor

Alicia is originally from the Mississippi Delta but has called Arkansas home for more than half of her life.  She graduated from Harding University with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2009.  She graduated, again, from Harding University with an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies in 2012.

She has PA clinical experience in both primary care and psychiatry.  She started her PA career practicing rural medicine in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee where she gained a lot of valuable knowledge to integrate into her psychiatry career.  She spent the past 12 years as a PA in adult outpatient psychiatry at UAMS.  It was there where she became a preceptor to UAMS PA students and gained experience in guest lecturing for the UAMS PA program.  Alicia realized she had a passion for educating future PA’s through these experiences.  She has emphasized, over the years, with students, the importance of being a thorough clinician who looks at the whole person and the importance of being a compassionate provider who takes time with each patient to help them have the best possible outcomes and quality of life.  Alicia earned a CAQ in Psychiatry from the NCCPA in 2022.  She enjoys attending annual ARAPA conferences and catching up with previous students she precepted and other fellow colleagues from all over the state of Arkansas.   Alicia is excited to join the UAMS PA Program team and work to train future PA’s.

Outside of her work duties, Alicia is the proud mother of two boys.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and boys, whether it’s reading books with them each night, going on hikes in the beautiful Arkansas state parks or traveling to various places in and out of the country.
