Clinical Site and Preceptor Placement Policy
The Physician Assistant Program is responsible for identifying, evaluating and securing all clinical rotation sites and preceptors to ensure high-quality educational experiences that meet accreditation standards. Students are not required to independently obtain clinical sites or preceptors.
Students who have interest in a particular clinical site or preceptor may submit a request to the program for consideration. Requests are reviewed by the Directors of Clinical Education; however, all clinical placements are coordinated and assigned at the discretion of the Physician Assistant Program, and approval of requested sites or preceptors is not guaranteed.
All requested clinical experiences undergo a formal review process to ensure appropriate supervision, educational value and compliance with program and accreditation requirements.
Please refer to the Clinical Year Manual for additional details regarding clinical placement policies, procedures, and student responsibilities.
