UAMS Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Professional Observation Alternative
As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many healthcare facilities are restricting visitors. This includes applicants/prospective students trying to schedule a professional observation as part of the UAMS Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program’s application process. We understand not everyone will have access to complete an in-person professional observation and have created an option to meet this application requirement.
If you are unable to locate a facility to complete an in-person professional observation, you will need to watch both videos listed in the links below. After viewing, please write a 500 word essay describing your interpretation about the role of a sonographer as part of the healthcare team. The essay should be uploaded to the online application or emailed to CHPAdmissions@uams.edu. All components of the UAMS Diagnostic Medical Sonography application must be received by March 1st.
