Eulalia S. Araoz Endowed Scholarship for Cytotechnology
Eligible: New Cytotechnology Students
Background and Purpose
The Eulalia S. Araoz Endowed Scholarship for Cytotechnology was established in 2013 by Mrs. Araoz’s husband, Dr. Carlos Araoz, MD. She was a dedicated cytotechnologist who modeled professionalism, embodied a diligent work ethic to make patients and families the focus of healthcare, and demonstrated attention to detail. It will be awarded annually to a cytotechnology student who demonstrates a commitment to the field of cytotechnology, exemplifies professionalism, and personifies a strong work ethic.
Award Amount and Timing
Subject to the availability of funds, the total annual award is $2,000 to selected student(s). Scholarship award is as follows: $1,000 per semester, fall and spring semester enrollment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be enrolled in the Cytotechnology Program in the UAMS College of Health Professions.
- Documented Financial Need – All students applying for scholarships must apply for financial aid. Students are not required to accept awarded loans, but in order to generate the aid report required that officially documents financial need, a completed FAFSA is required. References
- Two references are required with at least one being from a health care professional. Relatives cannot be used as references.
