Meet Bria Mays from the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program
My name is Bria Mays and I am from Jonesville, Louisiana. I came to UAMS to pursue my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
I discovered the PA career during my senior year of high school when I was given the opportunity to shadow a Family Medicine PA. After much research and multiple shadowing opportunities, I was able to witness the important roles that PAs perform in patients’ care. As a PA, some of the opportunities I will have is the ability to diagnose, treat, and educate patients I have the honor of providing care to.
While applying to PA schools, I discovered UAMS. I am thankful to have interviewed and received acceptance to a program that has supportive faculty members and a program that provides a vast amount of resources to help me be a successful student and future PA. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering and serving communities, networking, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being a dog mom to my Shih Tzu, Toby.
