Student Spotlight Class of 2025

Please welcome Celeste Garcia Dubon, who, along with her fellow UAMA PA Class of 2025 students, recently matriculated the first week of May 2023!  Celeste was born in Conroe, Texas, but was raised in Little Rock.  She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Since graduation, she became a certified nurse assistant and practiced at Baptist Rehabilitation Center and Arkansas Children’s NICU department. She relates “These experiences have allowed me to grow by enhancing my medical knowledge while also appreciating and valuing the importance of teamwork.” She has also spent a lot of time volunteering at UAMS 12^th Street Health and Wellness Center as a Spanish translator. Celeste feels this has helped her immensely with her patient interaction and played an important role in helping her become a certified translator for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

In her spare time, Celeste enjoys outdoor activities with her family and when possible.  She loves traveling to Honduras to visit the rest of her family. I she has a fiancé and together they have a beautiful three-year-old daughter who Celeste says is the most important figure in their lives.
