Craig Gilliam Medical Laboratory Sciences Scholarship

Eligible: New and Currently Enrolled Medical Laboratory Sciences Students

Background and Purpose

The Craig Gilliam Medical Laboratory Sciences Scholarship was established by Mr. Craig H. Gilliam to help support Medical Laboratory Science students based on financial need as well as academic merit.  Mr. Gilliam is an alumnus of the medical laboratory sciences program and serves as a member of the college’s advisory board.

Award Amount and Timing

Subject to the availability of funds, the total annual award is $1,000 to the selected student.  Scholarship award is as follows: $500 per semester, fall and spring semester enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be admitted as a full-time student in the Medical Laboratory Sciences program in the College of Health Professions.
  2. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (cGPA) of 3.25 at the time of admission
  3. Documented Financial Need – All students applying for scholarships must apply for financial aid.  Students are not required to accept awarded loans, but in order to generate the aid report required that officially documents financial need, a completed FAFSA is required.  Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information.
