National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Respiratory Care Scholarship

Eligible: New or Continuing students in the Respiratory Care program

Background and Purpose

This scholarship is made possible from funds donated by the National Board for Respiratory Care to support students’ academic success.

Award and Timing

The total annual award is $5,000 awarded as follows: $1,000 each for five students. The one-time award will be made in spring 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicant must be enrolled in the traditional, entry-to-practice College of Health Professions Cardio-Respiratory Care program (not the AS-BS Degree Advancement program).
  2. Applicant must be entering second semester of enrollment, be in good standing with the program, and not on academic probation.
  3. Applicant must have no outstanding coursework (grade of Incomplete) from fall 2023 classes.
  4. Applicant must have a program GPA (pGPA) of at least 2.5.
  5. Documented Financial Need – All students applying for scholarships must apply for financial aid.  Students are not required to accept awarded loans, but in order to generate the aid report required that officially documents financial need, a completed FAFSA is required.  Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information.
  6. Submit an essay for consideration by the scholarship committee.
