Goals and Competencies

Graduates of the UAMS Cytology Program will:

• be qualified as competent entry-level cytologists,
• complete a clinical internship portion of the curriculum with a minimum accuracy level that increases each semester, and
• demonstrate skills associated with the lifelong learning of cytopathology

The goal defining minimum expectations for this program is to prepare competent entry-level cytologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Further, this program will provide quality instruction and professional education in the field of cytopathology so graduates will be qualified cytologists.
